Call To The Conference

February 17th, 2010

The National Guard Association of Oklahoma would like to invite you to attend the 53rd Annual Conference and Military Ball on March 26-27 2010 at the Sheraton Hotel in Oklahoma City, OK.  This year, all events will be held in the Sheraton Hotel. Due to the size limitations of this venue, only 600 seats will be available for the Military Ball and at the writing of this “Conference Call”, there are only 360 left.  The deadline for purchasing your Ball tickets is March 9th, 2010.  All NGAOK members and their families are invited to attend.

The theme for this year’s conference is “Embracing Our Past & Securing Our Future”.  The NGAOK Business Meeting will be held on Friday, March 26th and will be followed by a Costume & Karaoke Dance Party.  Individual prizes will be given to the top three costumes and the top three karaoke singers.  NGAOK would like to ask each MSC/Wing to sponsor one person from your MSC/Wing to compete for 1st Prize in the Costume Contest and Karaoke Contest.  If you are a first prize MSC/Wing winner the MSC/Wing will receive one FREE NGAOK Membership for an Officer and Enlisted to hand out at their own discretion.  You must have a ticket to participate and the Winner will be determined by votes.  Encourage members of your MSC/Wing to participate, have some fun, and help stuff the ballot box in favor of their favorite contestants.

The Luncheons will be held on Saturday the 27th in the Sheraton Hotel.  Chief Master Sergeant Allen Usry, Command Senior Enlisted Advisor for NORAD/USNORTHCOM will be a guest speaker at the CGO/JRE luncheon.  He is the first ever Air National Guard command chief master sergeant to be selected in this position.  He is a fellow Oklahoman who is excited to be back in his home state.

As you elect your new board members for the NGAOK Board of Directors, please make sure they are prepared for the responsibilities required to serve on the board. Doors will open for the Military Ball Saturday evening at 6:15pm followed by a dance. On behalf of your Board of Directors, I want to thank you for your service to our Country and taking part in our 53rd Annual Military Ball.

Sincerely,
Joe Franco
President, NGAOK 2009-2010
